Lizzy Tan is a Singaporean-American dance artist based in Texas and London.
Lizzy is a recent BFA Dance and BA Economics graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She began dancing at the age of four through local community dance classes, and resumed training throughout her teens with the Houston Met Dance Center, SoundBox Studios, Urban Souls, and the Movement Lab, where she was admitted to the Innovators Choreography Program as well as Pre-professional Track. Her artistic background also includes theatre, studio art, and music.
She has worked with choreographers and educators such as Yacov Sharir, Charles O. Anderson, Andrea Beckham, Dr. Lorenzo "Rennie" Harris, Gregroy Dolbashian, Erica Gionfriddo, Amy Morrow, Ananya Chatterjea, and Courtney Mazeika, amongst others. As a performer, Lizzy has had the pleasure of performing at the Kennedy Center, Wortham Center, and American Dance Festival, as well as in the United Kingdom.
Currently, Lizzy's creative projects include dance works, performance installations, and films with creatives spanning integrated media, digital technologies, music and sound, photography and film, as well as other movement research. She looks forward to meeting new collaborators across disciplines.
